NLN Jonas Scholars Program
Thanks to a grant from the Jonas Center for Nursing and Veterans Healthcare, funded by the Jonas Family Fund, the NLN Jonas Scholars Program addresses a core formal goal of the NLN: Promote evidence-based nursing education and the scholarship of teaching. To be named a Jonas Scholar is a prestigious honor as participants work to complete rigorous research studies for their dissertations.
The Jonas Center grant facilitates the NLN’s dedication to faculty development and to the creation of opportunities for leadership and career advancement. It serves as an effective tool to address the shortage of nurse educators, long cited as one root cause of the nationwide nursing shortage.
Scholars, from nursing programs selected by the Jonas Foundation, are chosen by competitive review. Funds are distributed through the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education and include financial support for research and travel expenses to meetings with mentors at the NLN Education Summit.
