Dodie Serafini MSN, PhD, RN, CNE

Director of Assessment Services

Dr. Serafini entered her professional nursing career as a licensed practical nurse. Over the next 20 years she progressed through her academic journey. Her MSN is focused on nursing education and her Ph.D. is in Educational Leadership. She holds the NLN certification as a nurse educator.

She has served in the academic roles of dean and assistant dean. In these positions she was responsible for curriculum, evaluation of learning resources, assessment, programmatic accreditation, regulatory and compliance, and supervision of instructional designers.

Prior to being in nursing education administration, she was full-time faculty at Front Range Community College in Colorado and was selected Community College Master Faculty of the year in 2006. She also taught part-time at Metro State College and Denver College of Nursing.

Her 17 years of clinical practice was focused in the areas of mental health, geriatrics, and medical-surgical nursing as well as nursing administration. Dr. Serafini enjoys working with the geriatric population. She also owned and operated two assisted living homes that supported a placement opportunity for geriatric clients who needed some assistance but did not require long-term care.

Dr. Serafini resides in Colorado with her wife, four dogs, and a cat. She has three grown daughters and four grandchildren who are also in Colorado. She enjoys time with family, reading, sewing, the mountains, hiking, and fishing. Dr. Serafini has volunteered as an outreach director for her church, as an item- writer for the NLN CNE exam, as a mentor for MSN students, and at local health fairs.
