Advancing Care Excellence for Caregivers E-Learning Course
Family caregivers are essential partners in providing care to our most vulnerable populations. A key aspect in addressing the needs of family caregivers (FCGs) is understanding the multiple domains health care professionals must master to integrate FCGs into the health care team and assist them in preparation for the vital role they fulfill.
This course discusses the national family caregiving crisis and the need for a paradigm shift in the education of health care professionals. It will examine the development of the interprofessional family caregiving competencies and the family caregiving domains of preparedness (collectively referred to as “the competencies”). Educational opportunities using evidence-based resources to integrate family caregivers into the health care team and prepare them for their vital roles will be developed.
