Achieving fellowship designation(s) can enhance the professional development and leadership capacity of nursing educators. While there are 19 designations that have been deemed by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing as "important academic achievements" and contribute to U.S. News and World Report rankings for graduate programs in nursing, nurse educators may be unfamiliar with the vast array of fellowship designation options or the process to successfully pursue these honors. This session will provide an overview of key fellowships and ways for nurse educators to strategically pursue advancement opportunities through fellow designations.

Workshop Objectives

  • Delineate fellowship designations that will best advance professional development in nursing education
  • Analyze available fellowship options and determine the priority designation(s) to pursue
  • Create realistic initial fellowship goals

Speaker
