NLN Ambassador Information

Are you interested in helping the NLN increase awareness of its programs and services for nurse faculty? Personal outreach by an NLN ambassador ensures that faculty and educational leaders in all schools of nursing are kept informed about the NLN’s programs, grant opportunities, and member involvement initiatives.

Appointment Process

Ambassadors must be current NLN members and a faculty member at a school of nursing. She/he must maintain active membership throughout their appointed term.

NLN recognizes one or more ambassadors per school. To become an NLN Ambassador for your school please submit your name here.

Responsibilities

• Promote the NLN mission and values to members and non-members.
• Encourage member participation in NLN programs and activities:
  • Motivate NLN members to submit scientific abstracts for the NLN Education Summit and conferences.
  • Support researchers considering publication in the NLN research journal Nursing Education Perspectives.
  • Help faculty access free and low-cost NLN teaching resources such as the Simulation Resource Action Center and the Advancing Care Excellence (ACE) programs specifically developed for vulnerable populations and their caregivers.
  • Inspire members to apply for research grant funding.
• Foster leadership within the NLN member community:
  • Encourage member participation in NLN committees, elected office, and other volunteer opportunities.
  • Recommend faculty for NLN awards celebrating research, teaching, clinical achievement, leadership, and humanitarianism.
  • Promote professional development opportunities such as the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential, Leadership Institute programs, and fellowship in the Academy of Nursing Education.
