Dr. Trent-Adams was a nurse officer in the US Army, and since 1992, part of the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service, and then deputy associate administrator of the HIV/AIDS Bureau of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) before joining the Surgeon General’s office.
