Educators are seeking preparation and guidance in facilitation of multicultural and race-related dialogues. The elimination of health care disparities hinges on critical conversations in the classroom that acknowledge the intersectionality of race, ethnicity, culture and provider beliefs.
This six-hour workshop will strengthen the capacity of educators to facilitate critical discourse among and between colleagues and students that acknowledges the intersectionality of race, ethnicity, culture, and individual beliefs. The outcome will be graduates who are prepared to promote social justice and improve the quality of health care for all individuals. Using the work of James Banks and Marion Yoder, participants will be guided on meaningful ways to create safe environments that foster race-related dialogues and consider implicit thoughts of future providers.
