Facilitating the DNP Scholarly Project: From Idea to Dissemination
This two-day interactive workshop is designed for participants who are directly or indirectly involved with facilitating doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) project design, implementation, and evaluation. This immersion will include topics such as: critical conversations to guide students through the process, models of evidence-based practice leading to design and implementation of the project, types of scholarly projects, sustainment and dissemination. The session will generate a robust dialogue about the unique characteristics of DNP education, and differences between the DNP scholarly project and PhD dissertation. Small group interaction with facilitators will assist participants in advancing ways to more fully execute DNP scholarly projects from conceptualization to implementation in order to bring more rigor and standards to the process for all programs. Participants will leave this immersion with the tools to facilitate DNP project development in accordance with the DNP Essentials

- Explore ways to guide students through the process, keeping the project focused and narrow
- Differentiate between quality improvement and research
- Identify best practices in DNP project design, implementation, evaluation and dissemination
