Using active-learning, this two-day immersive workshop teaches how to: identify a research problem; link education research priorities and funding considerations; identify the role of theory; examine ethical issues and research designs; select instruments and measurement tools; and discuss options for data collection, analysis, and interpretation of data. Working in small groups with facilitators, participants learn to transform a research idea into a proposal that will create evidence for nurse educator practice, and leave with the tools to write a rigorous research proposal in nursing education.
Nurse researchers will:
• Increase their knowledge of best practices in the generation of evidence for nursing education
• Apply research principles and frameworks to research in nursing education
