National League for Nursing & Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Publishers to Launch Partnership in Testing Solutions
NLN Reputed Excellence in Test Prep Will Combine with LWW Innovations and Resources in Adaptive Learning to Maximize N-CLEX® Success for Nursing Students and Schools
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Washington, DC, September 18, 2013 — The National League for Nursing (NLN), the premier professional association for nurse educations and deans and administrators of schools of nursing across the spectrum of higher education, and Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), a leading publishing house in the field of health care, have announced plans to join forces in the arena of testing solutions. In combining the strengths and expertise available through their unique testing products and services, the NLN and LWW will thus offer maximum support to nursing students sitting for the N-CLEX licensing exams, as well as to nurse educators as they seek to maximize student knowledge, exam performance, and retention.
Currently, NLN Testing Services is considered by many to be the gold standard for N-CLEX preparation and high retention rates for nursing students, as practice exams are predictive and rooted in empirical data, in accordance with the highest psychometric standards of excellence. One reason is that the NLN bases development of all its test prep products on consultation with nurse educators and clinicians, who are in the best position to understand and reflect the needs of both academia and practice environments.
For its part, LWWs PrepU product line represents innovation and resources to streamline the study and learning process through customized adaptive learning experiences tailored to the individual users level of knowledge. Students may identify their particular weaknesses and where they need to spend more time studying to maximize their chances of passing; instructors get real-time data for maximizing class performance.
"The NLN is excited to move forward, with our partner, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, in a direction that will undoubtedly raise the bar for everyone involved in testing solutions in nursing education," stated NLN CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN.
Added Susan Driscoll, president of Wolters Kluwer Health, Professional & Education, "Preparing students for NCLEX, and ultimately to be great nurses is the core of our work, and we are thrilled to work with the NLN, who really understand and are leaders in creating the best nursing instruction. Together, we can build the best possible study support tools for tomorrows nurses."
