Other Vulnerable Populations
Improving instructional quality couldn't be easier or more practical with ACESXPRESS, and I urge all nurse educators to utilize it. NLN CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN |
The site now also features new content in the unfolding cases of seniors (ACE.S); Alzheimer’s and other dementia patients (ACE.Z); and veterans and their families (ACE.V). The addition of current references and four novel teaching strategies are more closely focused on the challenges that surround mental health caregiving. All resources, developed by nurse faculty experts in simulation and technology in education, are evidence-based and implementation-ready. Designed to be flexible, the program can be modified according to the needs of the instructor, the teaching environment, and students’ backgrounds, levels, and learning styles.
President Anne R. Bavier, PhD, RN, FAAN, dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington, noted: “Unfolding cases are an incredible resource for nurse faculty. They combine the power of storytelling with the experiential nature of simulation scenarios and create a robust, meaningful experience for students.”
“The NLN recognizes that access to quality health and mental health care for the nation’s growing frail elderly and other vulnerable populations is a vital priority,” added NLN CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN. “Improving instructional quality in this area couldn’t be easier or more practical with ACESXPRESS, and I urge all nurse educators to utilize it.”
