NLN and Sigma Theta Tau International Sponsor Bi-Annual NERC
National League for Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International Sponsor Bi-Annual Nursing Education Research Conference
Research as a Catalyst for Transformative Practice
|
This year, NERC will focus on the impact of educational research on clinical outcomes. Participants will hear from multiple scholars during oral and poster presentations, educational workshops, and engaging plenary sessions. Attendees will leave with new insights and novel educational strategies to better prepare graduates of nursing programs to deliver outstanding patient care.
To begin the experience, on Thursday, April 7, participants may select one of four pre-conference workshops. These will explore some of the nuts and bolts of launching and sustaining a successful career as a scholar-educator: developing sound instruments for obtaining and measuring valid results in scholarly study; understanding theory as the foundation for research; and technology innovations in nursing education.
Four plenary sessions on Friday and Saturday are interspersed with concurrent sessions of oral and poster presentations covering a wide variety of topics in nursing education research; and opportunities to visit exhibitors’ booths. Featured plenary speakers are: David B. Daniel, PhD; Jacqueline Dunbar-Jacob, PhD, RN, FAAN; Patricia Davidson, PhD, RN, FAAN; M. Christina R. Esperat, PhD, RN, FAAN; Ruth Kleinpell, PhD, RN, FAAN; G. Elaine Patterson, EdD, RN, CNE, APN-C; and NLN and STTI presidents respectively, Anne R. Bavier, PhD, RN, FAAN and Cathy Catrambone, PhD, RN, FAAN.
Register for Research as a Catalyst for Transformative Practice as well as for the pre-conference workshops.
