| Washington, DC, November 2, 2017 - National League for Nursing Foundation for Nursing Education is proud to announce the creation of its advisory council. Comprised of leaders in nursing academia, the advisory council will provide insight into nursing education and practice and align these priorities with the Foundation's strategic initiatives.
This group of leaders has demonstrated a commitment to NLN and, in their role on this council, will continue to create awareness and advance the mission of the NLN Foundation. The council will also help NLN address nursing faculty shortage by recommending resources to increase the number of faculty scholarships that the NLN provides each year. "We can't wait to see what we're able to achieve together! I'm very proud that this exceptional group has accepted our invitation to be inaugural members of the NLN Foundation's Advisory Council. Leveraging the expertise and knowledge from this group is powerful," says Chief Nursing Officer, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas and NLN Foundation for Nursing Education Board of Trustees chair, Cole Edmonson, DNP, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, FAAN. "One of our reasons for establishing an advisory council for the Foundation is to build a network of leaders from nursing education and other sectors that can collaborate on the challenges facing our industry and work together to develop effective solutions," added NLN CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN. "This council is made up of esteemed professionals who bring critical perspectives to how we approach our work and collaboratively fulfill our mission." The NLN Foundation Advisory Council members have committed to a renewable four-year term and will meet two times per year.
