Registrations Processed on a First come-First served Basis Washington, DC, April 9, 2018 — The National League for Nursing's Center for Innovation in Simulation and Technology and the School of Nursing at Boise State University are proud to co-sponsor the 4th Biennial NLN/Boise State University Simulation Conference. During this full two-day gathering at Boise State University, Thursday, May 17 – Saturday, May 19, participants will learn innovative strategies in designing and delivering simulations. From nurse educators in academia to health care practitioners in clinical settings, there will be something for everyone, conference organizers promise. "Simulation and technology continue to be at the forefront of today's key innovations in health care delivery and patient outcomes," noted G. Rumay Alexander, NLN's president and professor and associate vice chancellor for diversity and inclusion/chief diversity officer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. "The NLN is delighted to continue its partnership with Boise State University to offer this outstanding professional development opportunity to nurse educators who seek to enhance their understanding and use of these important teaching and learning tools." Added NLN CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN: "We are indebted to Boise State University's School of Nursing for providing a home for the conference, while showcasing the once and future possibilities for excellence in simulation education. The next generation of nurses will undoubtedly benefit, studying on every level of higher education and in the variety of health care settings that exist to advance the health of our nation and global community." In her keynote, Carol Fowler Durham, EdD, RN, ANEF, FAAN, will address Simulation and Its Influence on Safe Patient Care. Plenary speaker William C. McGaghie, PHD will present Mastery Learning. The endnote address by KT Waxman, DNP, MBA, RN, CNL, CENP, CHSE, FSSH, FAAN, will cover The Business of Simulation and Return on Investment. NLN Excelsior Director of the NLN Center for Innovation in Simulation and Technology and a renowned simulation scholar Susan Gross Forneris, PHD, RN, CNE, CHSE-A, who again has a leading role in the conference programming, will speak several times throughout the weekend. In addition to the formal part of the program, there will be plenty of opportunity for professional networking, touring Boise State's state-of-the-art simulation labs, and investigating the latest vendor products and services.
