Winning Tomorrow: The Future for Nursing Education
Friday, September 14
Washington, DC, May 3, 2018 — Can Futurist Matt Thornhill look into a crystal ball and anticipate what's in store for nursing education generations from now? No, he cannot. But what can be predicted is a lively, engaging, informative presentation when Mr. Thornhill takes to the stage at the National Faculty Meeting on Friday, September 14 during the National League for Nursing 2018 Education Summit in Chicago. His talk, Winning Tomorrow: The Future for Nursing Education, is sure to reflect Mr. Thornhill's winning brand of thorough research and analysis.

"I look forward to hearing Matt's insights and advice for nursing education, based on his interpretation of the extensive data out there on the changing dynamics of the health care environment, coupled with his accumulated wisdom on general societal and generational trends afoot," emphasized NLN President G. Rumay Alexander, EdD, RN, FAAN.

Added NLN CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN: "While no one can say with certainty where nursing education is headed, I believe that Matt’s perspective will provide the nursing education community with definitive signposts in developing coherent, sound strategies for what we may anticipate and can make happen. Plus, he has a reputation as a highly entertaining speaker. Colleagues, you are in for a treat!"

Founder and managing partner of the Richmond, Virginia think tank, SIR's Institute for Tomorrow, the futurist, generational expert, author, and provocateur has spent a career assessing trends on the immediate horizon that impact organizations, studying the people responsible for trend-setting, and helping leaders in the private; non-profit; and public sectors determine how best to prepare for tomorrow. Tapping into more than fifty years of SIR's research and insight expertise, the Institute for Tomorrow has helped hundreds of organizations connect the dots to navigate changes ahead. Among them are nursing and health care organizations. Most recently, he was the keynote speaker at an AARP Public Policy/Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nurse Leadership conference and addressed gatherings of nurse leaders in Texas, California, Illinois, Washington, and Virginia.

Mr. Thornhill is co-author, with his business partner John Martin, of Boomer Consumer. Their next book, Winning Tomorrow: What Leaders Must Do to Leverage the Future, is set for publication later this year.

The 2018 Education Summit, Celebrating 125 Years of Leadership in Nursing Education, will take place Wednesday–Friday, September 12–14 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago. Everyone is urged to take advantage of early bird registration offered through May 31, to secure the best available rates.
