National League for Nursing Press Offers Three
New Titles Coming Soon

New Books Cover Advancing CNE® Credentials for Academic Nurse Educators & Academic Clinical Nurse Educators
Washington, DC — The National League for Nursing tradition of announcing new works of scholarship in time for the annual NLN Education Summit this week continues with the anticipated publication by year's end of three new volumes by the NLN Press. Summit attendees will have the opportunity to have an advance peek at the books' scope and content at a 'Meet & Greet' gathering on Friday, September 27, from 7:30–8 a.m. at the Wolters Kluwer Health booth #301 in the Exhibit Hall at the Summit.

"The National League for Nursing is dedicated to thoroughly preparing nurse educators for their specialized advanced practice role and to encouraging all nurse educators, be they in academic or clinical settings, to sit for the CNE exam so that their expertise is reflected in their professional credentials," said NLN President G. Rumay Alexander, EdD, RN, FAAN, professor and former associate vice chancellor/chief diversity officer of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

NLN CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN, said, "These three forthcoming additions to the NLN Press canon are essential texts for every nurse educator interested in taking his or her knowledge and experience to the next level."

The upcoming 2019 NLN Press publications are:
  • Academic Clinical Nurse Educator Review Book: The Official NLN Guide to the CNE®cl Exam; Teresa Shellenbarger, PhD, RN, CNE, CNEcl, ANEF, Editor
  • The Scope of Practice for Academic Nurse Educators and Academic Clinical Nurse Educators, 3rd Edition; Linda Christensen, EdD, JD, RN, CNE; Larry Simmons, PhD, RN, CNE, NEA-BC, Editors
  • Certified Nurse Educator Review Book: The Official NLN Guide to the CNE® Exam, 2nd Edition; Linda Caputi, EdD, RN, CNE, ANEF, Editor
These titles follow last year's NLN Press 2018 publications, NLN Core Competencies for Nurse Educators: A Decade of Influence (Judith A. Halstead, PhD, RN, ANEF, FAAN editor) and Clinical Nurse Educator Competencies: Creating an Evidence-based Practice for Academic Clinical Nurse Educators (Teresa Shellenbarger, PhD, RN, CNE, CNEcl, ANEF, editor), both of which expanded the scholarship surrounding the advanced practice roles of nurse educators and laid the foundation for the development of the specialized certification exam for academic clinical nurse educators, the CNE®cl.
