| Washington, DC — With a nationwide shortage of nurse educators, many positions in nursing education today may go unfilled. At the same time, qualified candidates willing to relocate for the right job or experienced nurses considering a new career direction in education may not be aware of existing opportunities, either close to or far from home.
To facilitate the match of talent with opportunity and thus advance excellence in nursing education, the National League for Nursing has launched a Career Center with comprehensive resources for both job seekers and employers. The user-friendly site offers employers—academic medical centers; health and hospital systems; community clinics; pre-licensure programs; and colleges and universities—a range of cost-effective options for job postings and marketing, sifting through resumes, and contacting appropriate prospects. There are also tools for tracking applicant outreach and then managing candidates, from scheduling of interviews through the process of negotiating final job offers. For job seekers—nurse educators; nurse practitioners; academic clinical nursing instructors; doctors of nursing practice; and more—the NLN Career Center assists with the entire job search, beginning with tips for resume writing and branding and interview coaching. With featured jobs on the site’s home page, as well as an extensive listing of all available open positions that is frequently updated, those in the job market can efficiently pinpoint opportunities best suited to their current level of skill and experience, career trajectory, and long-term goals.
