National League for Nursing Launches Career Center to Match Talent with Opportunity

Easy-to-Navigate Site Provides Comprehensive Services for Both Job Seekers & Employers in Nursing Education
Washington, DC — With a nationwide shortage of nurse educators, many positions in nursing education today may go unfilled. At the same time, qualified candidates willing to relocate for the right job or experienced nurses considering a new career direction in education may not be aware of existing opportunities, either close to or far from home.

To facilitate the match of talent with opportunity and thus advance excellence in nursing education, the National League for Nursing has launched a Career Center with comprehensive resources for both job seekers and employers.

The user-friendly site offers employers—academic medical centers; health and hospital systems; community clinics; pre-licensure programs; and colleges and universities—a range of cost-effective options for job postings and marketing, sifting through resumes, and contacting appropriate prospects. There are also tools for tracking applicant outreach and then managing candidates, from scheduling of interviews through the process of negotiating final job offers.

For job seekers—nurse educators; nurse practitioners; academic clinical nursing instructors; doctors of nursing practice; and more—the NLN Career Center assists with the entire job search, beginning with tips for resume writing and branding and interview coaching. With featured jobs on the site’s home page, as well as an extensive listing of all available open positions that is frequently updated, those in the job market can efficiently pinpoint opportunities best suited to their current level of skill and experience, career trajectory, and long-term goals.

“The launch of the NLN Career Center comes at a particularly timely moment, with the pandemic having highlighted the critical need for our nursing workforce to be prepared to handle the most complex health care crises imaginable,” said NLN President Patricia S. Yoder-Wise, RN, EdD, NEA-BC, ANEF, FAONL, FAAN, Professor and Dean Emerita at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and president of The Wise Group. “To trust in their competence means assuring excellence in nursing education, whether that instruction takes place in the classroom or at the bedside during times of national emergency. The National League for Nursing is therefore committed to eliminating vacancies in nursing education.”

NLN CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN, said, “Open to all and guided by the National League for Nursing’s Core Values of diversity and inclusion, caring, integrity, and excellence, the Career Center takes an innovative, accessible approach to what can be a stressful process. Tapping into these useful resources, both prospective employers and job applicants will gain confidence in finding the right match.”
