NLN Announces Annual Research Grants Promoting Nursing Education Scholarship

Awards Will Be Presented at 2020 NLN Virtual Education Summit in September
Washington, DC — The National League for Nursing proudly continues with its competitive scholarly research grants program for another year, under the banner of the NLN/Chamberlain University College of Nursing Center for the Advancement of the Science of Nursing Education. Funding is provided by the League and through endowments and donations to the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education. Formal presentation will take place during the 2020 NLN Education Summit, this year in a first-ever virtual format, September 23-25.

NLN President Patricia S. Yoder-Wise, RN, EdD, NEA-BC, ANEF, FAONL, FAAN, Professor and Dean Emerita at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and president of The Wise Group said, “The National League for Nursing is proud of its tradition as the first national nursing organization to fund nursing education research. The League’s unique role reflects the core values—integrity, caring, diversity/inclusion, and excellence—that elevate evidence-based, innovative scientific inquiry in pursuit of transformative excellence in nursing education. The work of these deserving scholars will undoubtedly prove more valuable than ever in a pandemic-plagued world and a society challenged by social inequities and racial disparities that is seeking guidance from the most sophisticated health care models and methodologies at hand.”

NLN CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN said, “The establishment of the NLN/Chamberlain Center in 2012 ensured ongoing positive change to nursing education research for all sectors of the profession and levels of higher education. Nurse educators committed to discipline-specific pedagogy are the vital link to a future nursing workforce that will transform patient care, advancing the health of our nation and the global community.”
