| Washington, DC — The National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) is pleased to announce the outcome of its 2020 election. All those elected will begin three-year terms effective January 1, 2021.
Sandra Bowles, EdD, MNEd, BSN, RN, CNE, was re-elected to a second term on the board as a public member on the NLN CNEA Board of Commissioners. Dr. Bowles is an Adjunct Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Charleston, School of Pharmacy, Charleston, West Virginia. The other newly elected board commissioners are:
• Representing Public Members: David Hanson, MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, NEA-BC, Nursing Practice, Self-employed Education and Research Consultant, Dallas, Texas
• Representing Programs in Nursing Education: Rowena Elliott, PhD, RN, CNN, AGNP-C, GS-C, CNE, LNC, FAAN, Clinical Associate Professor, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia
• Representing Nursing Practice: Andrea Doctor, MSN, RN, CCRN, CCRC, Associate Professor, School of Nursing University of District of Columbia in Washington DC and the Administrative Supervisor at Fort Washington Medical Center in Fort Washington, MD
• Representing Nursing Practice: Megan Isley, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, NPD-BC, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer Riley Children’s Health in Indianapolis

• Consuela Blaizes, DNP, RN, Practical Nursing Program Director, Central Carolina Community College in Lillington, North Carolina, representing practical nursing programs
• Sara Jane Jones, DNP, RN, CNE, Professor, School of Nursing, Madisonville Community College in Madisonville, Kentucky, representing associate degree nursing programs
• Deanna Howe, PhD, RN, CNE, Professor, School of Nursing Albany State University, Albany, Georgia, representing baccalaureate degree nursing programs

NLN CNEA Board of Commissioners Chair Joan Darden, PhD, RN, ANEF, a professor emerita of the Darton State College School of Nursing in Albany, Georgia said, “We appreciate the willingness of these newly elected individuals to share their time and expertise with the NLN CNEA. These volunteers have demonstrated their dedication to the core values of the NLN CNEA.”
The 15-member board provides leadership and direction to the accreditation services and is responsible for all accreditation decisions on nursing programs that seek accreditation from the NLN CNEA. The Nominations Committee is one of six standing committees that facilitate the work of the Commission.
