First the Blog, Now the Podcast: Introducing National League for Nursing Nursing EDge Unscripted
Experts Talk on Three Tracks that Expand Horizons of Novel Instructional Ideas, Strategies & Resources
Washington, DC — The National League for Nursing invites everyone to tune in to the newest iteration of the Nursing EDge with Nursing EDge Unscripted, a podcast offered by the NLN Division for Innovation in Education Excellence. This novel series of ongoing conversations bring a live dimension to the experiences and wisdom of experts in educational innovation. Some of the content has been previously shared in other formats: the NLN Nursing EDge blog and Nursing Education Perspectives, the League’s respected peer-reviewed scholarly journal.
"Nursing EDge Unscripted will be presented on three tracks, all navigating the how-to of innovation and transformation in nursing education," said Susan Gross Forneris, PhD, RN, CNE, CHSE-A, FAAN, and division director, who has designed and will manage the podcast, along with the blog. “I am excited about the debut of Nursing EDge Unscripted. Each conversation embraces the power of innovation to move educators away from the mundane and mediocre to the interesting and the exceptional.”
In describing the three distinct tracks, Dr. Forneris noted:
• Unscripted Conversation Scholarship celebrates the published work of select nurse educators from Nursing Education Perspectives, the Division for Innovation in Education Excellence, and the NLN Nursing EDge blog. The conversations embrace the authors’ unique perspectives on teaching/learning innovations and the implications for nursing program development and enhancement.
• Unscripted Conversation Surface joins two adventurous nurse educators as they reach beyond the surface to uncover stories from the trenches of education that explore the challenges and vulnerable moments that occur at the novel edge of innovation. These conversations will unpack how to transcend such challenges to reveal paths to grow and thrive within the context of the NLN core values of caring, integrity, diversity, and excellence.
• Unscripted Conversation Saga journeys through the history of nursing education, referencing stories that connect the past to the present and encourage the listener to imagine a future of innovative practice in teaching and learning.
