GOOD YEAR FOR NLN ADVOCACY

NLN was successful in the outcomes of a majority of our 2018 advocacy priorities. One key area in which we will continue our advocacy for the New Year is the reauthorization of the nursing workforce development programs at the Health Resources and Services Administration.

On October 24, President Trump signed into law the bipartisan Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment (SUPPORT) for Patients and Communities Act.

Last month, Congress held elections to fill leadership positions within each chamber.

116TH CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEE LEADERSHIP ANNOUNCED

Congress recently finalized the committee leadership positions for the 116th Congress. The list of Chairs and Ranking Members for the congressional committees with jurisdiction over health and higher education issues is now available.
