First and foremost, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect our lives in unprecedented ways, we at the NLN and Sigma hope you are safe and well. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we complete the preparations necessary for handling your Nursing Education Research Conference (NERC) registrations.

We will begin processing registration refunds beginning April 6. You have three options:

1. Process a full registration refund via your original payment method
2. Transfer your NERC registration funds to the NLN Education Summit, September 23-25, 2020, in Orlando, Florida, at no additional charge – an average savings of $245 off the Early Bird Registration (only available for 2020 NERC registrants)
3. Transfer your NERC registration funds to Sigma’s 2021 Creating Healthy Work Environments conference, February 21-23, 2021 in Austin, Texas, at no additional charge

IMPORTANT: You must complete this registration processing form no later than 5 p.m. EST Friday, April 3, to direct us how to handle your registration.

Beginning April 6, please allow up to four weeks to complete the processing of your registration transfer or refund.

Here is some important additional information: For those presenters who gave permission, all NERC abstract and presentation materials are published, available, and searchable in the Sigma Repository, a free, open-access repository of nursing research. This allows you to track the views of your presentation as well as provides evidence of your work. The NERC Program Book is also available electronically on Issuu.

A word to NERC presenters: The presentation(s) you were slated to give are still citable for your CV or Promotion and Tenure uses. Reference this helpful APA Style blog post for more information.

For documents requiring APA citation format, you may use the following format:

For documents that do not require the stringent APA format, consider the following language:

Madigan, L.., & Ricciardi, R. (2020, March 26-28). Title title title title. Accepted for presentation at the Nursing Education Research Conference presented by the National League for Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau International https://www.sigmarepository.org/nerc-2020/. (Conference canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak)
