Designing and conducting a quantitatively-focused nursing education research studies involves considerations beyond which statistical test is most appropriate or how many subjects are needed to find effects or relationships that are statistically significant. This workshop will provide attendees with in-depth coverage of quantitative topics including:

• Conceiving of a quantitatively-focused research study
• Key measurement considerations
• Electronic data collection strategies
• Strategies for data cleaning and transformation
• Descriptive and basic inferential statistical analysis
• Considerations for effectively disseminating quantitative findings

Attendees are encouraged to bring their research ideas, partial or complete research datasets, or finalized data analyses to the workshop for consultation and discussion. The primary software used will be SPSS® v. 23 or above, but data in other formats (e.g., MS Excel®, Stata ®, etc.) are welcome as well.
