In keeping with the theme of Nurses Week 2015, this webinar will focus on the ethical concerns of nurse educators that arise from their role as faculty. This differs from ethics content in the curriculum; it focuses on the particular ethical issue faculty themselves face in the context of academic nursing. These include faculty-student roles and interactions, academic and scientific integrity, professional, societal, and global relations, and nursing educational administration concerns. Each topic area will be defined with discussion centered on the faculty member role and challenges. National standards for education and practice, as well as global nursing values, will be used to highlight priorities that have profound effects on nursing education practice. Literature resources will be provided.
