NEP Special Summit 2026 Issue: Call for Manuscripts

Submission Deadline: January 12, 2026

Nursing Education Perspectives is planning a special issue about Creating a Healthy Work Environment in Nursing Education  for the September/October 2026 issue. The guest editors are Mark C. Hand, PhD, RN, CNE , and Steven J. Palazzo, PhD, MN, RN, CNE, ANEF. 

Dr. Hand, a member of the NLN Board of Governors as Treasurer, is also a member of the Editorial Board of Nursing Education Perspectives. He is a clinical professor at the College of Nursing, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC.  Dr. Palazzo, assistant dean for undergraduate programs and a teaching professor in the College of Nursing at Florida State University,  is also a member of the Nursing Education Perspectives Editorial Board. He is a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) and a fellow in the NLN Academy of Nursing Education. 

We are seeking research in nursing education focused on creating a healthy work environment . Research on creating a healthy work environment in nursing education covers a range of topics aimed at supporting faculty and student well-being and success. Topics include, but are not limited to: examining the impact of organizational culture on well-being and retention, assessing wellness initiatives such as mindfulness training and stress management, and investigating work-life balance factors such as workload and flexibility . We are also seeking single-site studies for the journal’s Research Briefs section, and innovative pedagogical strategies for the Innovation Center that fit this call.
