Dr. Jacqueline Meyer PhD, RN, CNE, EBP (CH)
Nursing program manager with a focus on evidence-based practice for the University of Texas Medical Brach (UTMB) Health System
Dr. Jacqueline Meyer is a nursing program manager with a focus on evidence-based practice for the University of Texas Medical Brach (UTMB) Health System. She also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the UTMB School of Nursing (SON), the Vice Chair of the Institutional Review Board, and co-coordinator for the UTMB Nurse Residency Program. Dr. Meyer also serves as an educator for the UTMB Health System delivering evidence-based education to health system employees and also serves as a mentor for students in the SON Masters, PhD, and DNP programs.
Dr. Meyer received her Bachelor of Science (BSN) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in nursing from UTMB in 2011 and 2015 respectively and her Master of Science (MSN) in nursing education in 2017. She recently returned to UTMB in 2017 and previously worked as a nurse clinician in gynecology/oncology.
Dr. Meyer recently completed her final term on the Board of Commissioners for the National League of Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation and is the Evidence-Based Practice Chair for the Texas Association for Health Interpreters and Translators. She is the treasurer for the Sigma Theta Tau Alpha Delta Chapter and for the Association of Women in Science (Houston Chapter). She also serves as the Director at Large for the Santa Fe Texas Education Foundation.
Dr. Meyer holds nationally recognized certifications in nursing education, nursing professional development, social and emotional intelligence, and is a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer. Dr. Meyer serves as a mentor for UTMB interprofessional education (IPE) scholars and is a faculty mentor for the Sigma Theta Tau Maternal-Child Health Nurse Leadership Academy (MCHNLA).
Dr. Meyer’s areas of research are focused on Interprofessional education, healthy work environments, and the effects of music therapy on preterm infants.
