Dr. Jasper Erwin Tolarba DNP, MSN, M.Ed., RN, CGNC, CNE, FACHE, FFNMRCSI, FAAN
A Doctor and a seasoned Nursing Professional with a robust Academic and Professional background
Jasper Erwin Tolarba, DNP, MSN, M.Ed., RN, CNE,CGNC, FACHE, FFNMRCSI, FAAN is the inaugural Beatrice Hofstadter White Endowed Chair for Nursing Practice, Education, Research, and Innovation at Nuvance Health System and Sacred Heart University in New York and Connecticut. Prior to this, he was the first internationally educated nurse to become Director at CGFNS International (or Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools). His past clinical experiences include serving as Clinical Nursing Director at Tufts Medical Center-Boston, Clinical Manager at Aya Healthcare, Patient Services Manager at Yale New Haven Hospital, and ICU staff nurse at Saint Mary's Hospital. He also served as adjunct faculty at University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Simmons University-Boston, and Wilmington University-Delaware.
Dr. Tolarba was a 2019-2020 Fulbright Fellow to the Kingdom of Jordan where he conducted national research about nursing education in the country. Dr. Tolarba is one of the inaugural graduates of Doctor of Nursing Practice in Systems and Health Policy at Yale University in 2015. He is currently completing his second Doctorate (EdD in Nursing Education) at Teachers College Columbia University. He is the Founder and President of the Society of Internationally Educated Nurses in North America (SIENNA), a professional association of internationally educated nurses migrating from different parts of the world to countries such as United States and Canada.
Dr. Tolarba is a Board Certified as a Global Nurse Consultant (CGNC), Certified Nurse Educator (CNE), a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a Fellow of the Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FFNMRCSI), and Fellow of the American Academy of Nurses (FAAN). He is a proud member Columbia University’s Alpha Zeta Chapter and Yale University’s Delta Mu Chapter. At present, he is Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society’s 2024-2027 Liaison to the United Nations representing more than 100,000 active members and 600 chapters globally during high level discussions affecting nursing and healthcare.
