Sarah Billings-Berg began her nursing career in rural VT after earning a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from Norwich University in 1999. Since that time, she has additionally earned a Doctorate of Chiropractic from the University of Bridgeport, Master’s Degree in Nursing for Norwich University, and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Touro University Nevada. Dr. Billings-Berg has over 25 years of experience in clinical nursing and academic nursing education, including system level leadership roles that involved program development and evaluation. She recently joined the NLN CNEA team as Deputy Director after a career in the higher-education setting for 15 years where she served as full-time faculty, regional leadership, Associate Dean of Nursing, and Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences. She has a breadth of experience in undergraduate nursing programs that are geographically disbursed in rural and underserved areas. She has an extensive knowledge base regarding curriculum development, teaching with distance technology, and in progressive career ladder pathway programs. With additional practice experience in student health, home health, and acute care, Dr. Billings-Berg has bridged the education-practice gap in rural settings. Dr. Billings-Berg also teaches as an adjunct nursing and health science faculty member. She is certified by the National League for Nursing as an academic nurse educator.
