Matt Merino to Lend Unique Perspective during Four-Year Term
Washington, DC — Matt Merino, Chief Executive Officer for Education Management Solutions (EMS), an industry leader in providing health care simulation solutions, has joined the Advisory Council of the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education for a four-year term.
Matt Merino has a health care and simulation career spanning two decades and has experienced high impact simulation first-hand during his service as a member of the U.S. Army Special Operations community. Matt was awarded 13 medals for his distinguished service, including the Bronze Star. For the past 15 years, Matt has driven innovation across higher ed, health care, and nursing education programs, accelerating pre-licensure education solutions for university and health care partners.
“With the addition of Matt Merino to the Advisory Council, the NLN Foundation for Nursing Education will not only take advantage of his depth of knowledge concerning health care education but will also draw upon his practical operational knowledge gained at EMS, an experienced innovator in the simulation field that has supported the nursing community for decades. We are thrilled to add Matt and his unique point of view to the Advisory Council,” said NLN Foundation Chair Patrick Robinson, PhD, RN, ACRN, CNE, ANEF, FAAN, president, Research College of Nursing.

“I’m honored to join such a distinguished panel of experts in the health care field to lend my experience to aid in the NLN Foundation’s mission to build a strong nursing workforce across the globe,” said Merino.
The foundation supports the National League for Nursing’s competitive nursing education research grants and scholarship programs, among other initiatives, that aim to promote excellence in nursing education and expand diversity and inclusion in the nursing workforce and access to opportunities within higher education for qualified applicants to nursing programs.
